Viva La Beaver! That’s what I’m talking about. Specifically, Viva La Beaver! Mexican Chocolate Peanut Butter Stout from the Belching Beaver brewery of Oceanside, California. For some reason, I was thinking this brewery is in Oregon, and poured it into my prized Oregon Original Ales pint glass. Oh well. It held the beer just fine. Sorry, California!

This is the second beer I’ve tried from Belching Beaver, the first being their famous Peanut Butter Milk Stout. I very much enjoyed that beer, and since Viva La Beaver! is kin to it, I ordered a can from Craftshack online store.

Belching Beaver says about this beer:

Viva La Beaver is loaded with notes of creamy peanut butter, cinnamon and coffee. This decadent milk stout is the perfect dessert beer to finish off your meal, and is our highest rated beer, receiving numerous Gold and Silver medals. Sink your teeth into this liquid chocolate treat.

Viva La Beaver! Mexican Chocolate Peanut Butter Stout has an alcohol content of 7.5% by volume with 28 IBUs. I paid $4.49 for my can from Craftshack. Total Wine sells it for $8.49 a 4-pack in pint cans, which seems to be quite the bargain, though they do not sell it here in Georgia.

Viva La Beaver! Mexican Chocolate Peanut Butter Stout pours to a jet black color with a moderate head of creamy foam and a nose of peanut butter and fresh roasted peanuts. Taking a sip, the beer is medium to full in body with dark chocolate notes, peanut butter and peanut shells, cinnamon, coffee, and a gently roasty dark chocolate finish.

A tasty beer indeed, I might prefer it with a dash of chili peppers. For me, the beer was perhaps a tad sweet (to be fair, it is a milk stout), and a hint of spicy chilis might balance that and work with the chocolate and cinnamon to impart a mole theme. That said, would I buy it again? You bet your belching beaver I would.

Glad I tried it?  T

Would I rebuy it??
