I got some of this from Beer Across America, and I did find it to be a very drinkable
brown ale. I recall finding it a bit on the lighter side for a brown, but
it did have a pleasant malt character to it.
Update 6/20/1998: Aviator Ales were part of the Nor'Wester/Aviator/North
Country lineup, which took investment from an Indian brewing conglomerate
(Kingfisher I believe), but couldn't repay their loans. They thus went
bellyup. Nor'Wester's brands have been purchased by Saxer, but I haven't
heard that anyone picked up the Aviator line, of which I've only sampled
the Honey Brown and Porter. Both were decent, drinkable beers but not the best
examples of their respective styles.
And remember, try a new beer today, and drink outside the box.
