Perfect Day India Pale Ale

It’s the perfect day for an IPA! come to think of it, every day is the perfect day for an IPA, wouldn’t you say?  More to the point, though, today is the perfect day for a Perfect Day-a Perfect Day India Pale Ale from Asheville Brewing Company. I recently picked up some beers in Murphy, North Carolina, and a Perfect Day was amongst them.

Perfect Day is a companion IPA to Asheville’s Perfect Haze, a beer I have enjoyed but net yet reviewed. I know, I am slacking here, folks. I do have my tasting notes on Perfect Haze, though, so at some point I will flesh those out and add them here on Guruofbrew.com. Meanwhile, here’s what the brewery says about Perfect Day:

Dry hopped and clear, Perfect Day is the ultimate blend of old and new school IPAs. Citrus and tropical fruit flavor and aroma from big kettle and dry hop doses of Citra, El Dorado, Mosaic and Nelson Sauvin hops produce the Perfect IPA. Our most popular brew!

Asheville Perfect Day India Pale Ale has an alcohol content of 6.5% by volume with 60 IBUs. I bought a single as part of a mix-a-six at Ingles, where it was running $11.99 a six-pack. My can had no freshness dating.

Asheville Perfect Day India Pale Ale pours to a bright orange jello color with a thick fluffy white head of foam and a nose of grainy malt and soft citrus. Taking a sip, the beer is medium in body with a hint of caramel and citrus orange and grapefruit. I get a slight hint of resiny pine and at the last a lingering herbal bitterness.

I enjoyed this one a great deal, and I will be back for more.

Glad I tried it?  T

Would I rebuy it??
