New flavored beer from Anheuser Busch. Label
calls this "Beer with blue
agave nectar and a natural flavor of imported tequila and lime". Suggests
serving the beer "ice cold". Very pale color, good carbonation, nose
strongly reminiscent of 7-UP. Palate is quite thin, soda-like with strong
hints of lime and some tequila flavor in the finish. Tastes more like a
mixed drink than a beer, but I think it would be very refreshing in hot
weather. Definitely different.
It tasted a lot like soda to me. Is that surprising to me? No. Soda sales far exceed beer sales this day. Can I blame AB for wanting to tap into that market, and maybe grab a few mixed drink imbibers too? Hardly.
And remember, try a new beer today, and drink outside the box.
