Wandering into the Snow Double Dry Hopped Double India Pale Ale with Lactose and Marshmallows

A mystery! Who doesn’t love a good mystery? Well, I for one, do not. Not right now anyway, and not the mystery I’m going through. You see, it happened like this. It was the 3rd of July and there I was enjoying a glass of Wandering into the Snow Double Dry Hopped Double India Pale Ale with Lactose and Marshmallows from Abomination brewery. Christmas in July, dontcha know!

As I am wont to do, I carefully peeled the label off the can to scan it into my computer at high resolution for desktop wallpaper. When I went to save the file, though, in my wallpaper folder I found…it was already there. Had I had this beer before?

If so, I had not checked it into Untappd, which is highly irregular. I had not taken any tasting notes, either. Half Time says I bough a can on November 2nd of 2024. Only one can, though, and I can find no other purchases of it. So how did I get another?

The file date on the label I had already scanned was December 8th, 2024. OK, I thought, maybe I drank it while watching a Patriots game, and forgot to take notes and take a photo. This, though, would still be highly irregular. The final nail in the coffin of that theory is that the Patriots had no game that Sunday. They were on a bye week.

Mysterious circumstances indeed, which may never be solved. Be that as it may, I am here today to tell you of this fine beer. Wandering into the Snow Double Dry Hopped Double India Pale Ale has an alcohol content of 9.1% by volume and I paid $8.49 for my can from Half Time. It had no freshness dating.

Abomination Wandering into the Snow Double Dry Hopped Double India Pale Ale with Lactose and Marshmallows pours to a hazy orange color with a thick fluffy white head and a nose of bright citrus and soft vanilla. Taking a sip, the beer is medium in body and immediately pulls the palate in two directions: bright and citrusy with orange and tangerine like a sunny day, but also fluffy and pillowy like a snowy one with marshmallow and vanilla. It finishes balanced but not really bitter, and while fun the competing flavors do seem incongruous to me.

Would I drink it again? I’m pretty sure I already did.

Glad I tried it?  T

Would I rebuy it??
