Abita Ride Share! What’s that all about? I saw a bottle in the singles aisle at Total Wine and decided to find out. The label says it’s a Triple IPA, which might make it one of the strongest beers I have ever had from Abita. I twirled the bottle around in my hand to read the back label:

You might want to plan ahead with this big, bright, and hazy brew. Ride Share is a smooth Triple IPA loaded with luxurious hops. Its cloudy appearance steers you towards big hop flavors of tropical and citrus fruits. Don’t let the high ABV fool you - this drinkable brew is pleasantly balanced with a touch of malt sweetness and slightly dry finish.

The label also says this is a malt beverage with natural flavors, though I am not sure what those natural flavors are. I can tell you the beer has an alcohol content of 10% by volume, so you will definitely need a ride share after a few of these. I paid $2.99 for my bottle at Total Wine. It was selling for $12.99 a 6-pack at the time.

Abita Ride Share Triple IPA pours to a hazy orange color with a moderate sized cap of creamy white foam and a nose of light citrus peel. A thick layer of Brussels Lace forms on the sides of my glass and follows the liquid all the way to the bottom. Taking a sip, the beer is medium in body, and I was expecting more. Still, it caresses the tongue as it slides over it and deposits bright notes of tangerine citrus, bitter orange rind, and tropical passion fruit and mango. It finishes gently sweet and fruity and does not seem as strong as it is.

Dangerously drinkable, Abita Ride Share is one ride I would love to take again. I think you’ll enjoy the ride, too.

Glad I tried it?  T

Would I rebuy it??
