So OK Woodstock Beer Market by the Stout Brothers, how did you do it? You got 450 North Mexican Chocolate Stout on tap somehow, and I will be darned if  know how. There’s not much information about the beer anywhere, including the brewery website. I count 260 check ins on Untappd, and they all seem to be at the brewery, at the Woodstock Beer Market, it’s sister location the Smyrna Beer Market, or just a few other places. With two check ins off my crowler, I am one of the top drinkers on Untappd, two being the most anyone has. Yay me!

So here’s what I know. The beer has an alcohol content of 8% by volume, and I paid $19.50 for my crowler. Which is pricey. It’s a mole stout ala Westbrook Mexican Cake.

450 North Mexican Chocolate Stout pours to a jet-black color with a thick creamy tan head and a nose of dark chocolate, cinnamon, and chilis. Taking a sip, the beer is medium to full in body, thick and luxuriant on the tongue. It pops with rich bittersweet dark chocolate, spicy cinnamon and chilis, and vanilla/marshmallow. It finishes dry roasty and spicy dry from the cinnamon, but could use more chili heat.

4.5 stars for me, with ½ star demerit for the high price.

Glad I tried it?  T

Would I rebuy it??
