Pacific Northwest IPA

Rogue Pacific Northwest IPA! What is that all about? I didn’t know, so I bought a can to find out. I’ve always enjoyed Rogue Ales, they have been a constant through my craft beer journey. At least since the 90s anyway, when I could get their beers in Rhode Island. When I moved to Georgia 24 years ago, there were Rogue Ales again. Thanks Rogue!
Anyway, I was rummaging through my beer fridge and found my can of Rogue Pacific Northwest IPA. I decided to drink it that night, so I hopped on over to the Rogue website to see what they ahd to say about it.
This dank, piney IPA is crafted with Chinook, Simcoe, Strata, and 102 Hop Lines Experimental, a blend that captures the essence of the Pacific Northwest. Expect resinous pine notes with dank undertones from Strata, balanced by the bright, citrusy twist of 102 Hop Lines Experimental. The golden straw hue shimmers, inviting a sip of bold, nature-inspired flavors—a proper tribute to the region’s evergreen spirit.
Oh! Piney IPAs are right up my alley, straight out of the aforementioned 90s. There are some classic hops here, too, along with a newer one in the 102 Hop Lines Experimental.
Rogue Pacific Northwest IPA has an alcohol content of 6.9% by volume according to my can and their website. No IBUs are defined, though I wish they were. I paid $3.49 for my can from Total Wine, where they sell it for $13.99 a six-pack. A little higher than normal these days by about a buck, but not unheard of. My can is stamped CANNED 12/27/2024 on the bottom and I think I bought it last spring. These classic American IPAs do hold up though, and this one sure did.
Rogue Pacific Northwest IPA pours to a slightly hazy orange yellow color with a thick fluffy white head and a nose of grapefruit citrus. Taking a sip, the beer is medium in body and immediately pops with the grapefruit the nose promised, especially bitter rind. Resiny pine emerges, and I like that a lot. The beer finishes with an intense bitterness and I’m in love.
I will be looking for more of this one, and hope to find it on tap at Taco Mac.
Glad I tried it?

Would I rebuy it??
