I’m alright. Don’t nobody worry ‘bout me. Thanks for the intro, Kenny Loggins! That song kept going through my head as I sipped on my can of Brewdog Bushwood Beer. I mean, Caddyshack, right? That’s the theme of this beer. I know this because of the large gopher on the can, and the word “Caddyshack” printed beneath him. All that is missing is Bill Murray with a supply of C4.

Anyway, I drank this beer in May of 2023, took tasting notes, but never posted my review here on Guruofbrew.com. That same night, I drank a Greetings From Weymouth form Vitamin Sea brewing, and didn’t review that, either. When I went back to grab the image of Greetings From Weymouth, I noticed Bushwood Beer in the same folder, and well I’m here now to tell you about it.

Bushwood Beer is named for the Bushwood Club golf course in the movie. It is not listed on the Brewdog website, but their description of the beer is as follows on Untappd:

Bushwood beer, the light and fresh beer that’s crushable on the course. This light-colored straw lager features a creamy white head and moderate carbonation. Hop additions give Bushwood Beer, a light grassy, lemon character, balanced by a sweet malt aroma. At 5% alc/vol., you’ll be able to scamper along and play at least nine holes. Don’t worry, it’s good luck!

There are 49 check-ins to the beer on Untappd this month as I type, so clearly people are still drinking it, and maybe Brewdog is still making it. Total Wine has it listed as available in their Alexandria, Virginia store, where they sell it for $12.49 a six-pack. I paid $2.99 for a single 12-ounce can from Half Time. That can has the following on the label and the bottom of the can:

Brewdog Bushwood Beer pours to a cloudy yellow color with a prodigious fluffy white head and a nose of fresh bready malt and lemony citrus zest. Taking a sip, the beer is light to medium in body, appropriate to the style. It has fresh bready malt and some zesty lemon rind citrus, then in the finish a bit of earthy grassy hops emerge.

A very refreshing beer that I would drink again.
